A shampoo for thinning hair can help reduce the signs of baldness

Using a shampoo for thinning hair can be an effective way of stopping hair loss and improving the appearance of the hair.  These days there are loads of different hair products that help with thinning hair.  In addition to shampoos, there are various dietary supplements and herbal remedies that are used as natural hair loss treatments.  In male pattern baldness, an inherited trait, thin hairs and a receding hairline increase with age, which can be a distressing experience.  Shampoos and other hair care products can be used to attempt to stop hair getting any thinner.

A breakthrough drug in  shampoos for thinning hair is minoxidil, which offers hope to people who are losing their hair.  Like a regular shampoo, this product can be applied directly to the scalp.  This type of drug is known as a growth stimulator.  It doesn’t actually offer a cure for baldness or thin hairs, but it can help encourage thicker new hair growth.  It can have pleasing cosmetic results on thinning hairs, improving thickness.  It can be used by both men and women whose hair is beginning to thin.

Another hair loss treatment for men only is the drug finasteride, which treats the root causes of thinning hair and baldness by inhibiting production of the hormone DHT.  A natural oil that works in a similar way and is a common ingredient in thinning hair shampoos is saw palmetto.  Other ingredients often found in shampoos to improve the look of thinning hair are vitamins and minerals such as silica and vitamin B5.  Shampooing thin hair with a special hair loss solution may help slow down the balding process.
